OPEN LETTER: TO THE STRONGEST

Raising me was not easy, but I’m thankful. Raising a Black boy wasn’t easy, but I’m thankful. Raising a Black boy that doesn’t look like any other Black boy, wasn’t easy, but I’m thankful. Raising a Black boy dealing with colorism daily wasn't easy, but I’m thankful. Raising a Black boy with no manual was not easy, but I AM THANKFUL.

Your sacrifices are unmatched and honestly if I knew how to pay you back, I’m not sure I have enough. You fault battles Pops and Brittany never knew about and I know you did that, so that I could continue to be better. From our great days to the days we cried, I want you to know, you were right. It was worth it.

This is for you.
